Worship Cancellation Update (4/23/2020)

It is with great regret that I must announce a continuation of our in-person worship cancellation through the end of this program year (which ends on Sunday, June 21st).  Our hope had been to return to worship in the Sanctuary at some point before the conclusion of this program year but we made a decision to follow the schedule of our Melrose Public Schools who will now be closed for the remainder of the school year.  While our program year extends a bit beyond the academic year, we have chosen to re-evaluate in late summer for returning to in-person worship in the fall.

No decision has yet been made by the Melrose Clergy Association regarding July Summer Union Services.
With this decision, FCC will be exploring new and creative ways to engage our congregation for the remaining eight weeks of our program year.  So, stay tuned!

I would also like to add that “postponement” is probably a better word than “cancellation” because WE WILL BE BACK!  In the meantime, love is not cancelled.  Community is not cancelled.  God is not cancelled.  Our faith is certainly not cancelled or even postponed.  Our church is alive and working and reaching out each and every day.  I pray that in the midst of these challenging and uncertain days, you feel the abiding presence of Christ surrounding you, strengthening you, and guiding you every moment.
Until our next virtual encounter…
