DEACON ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

These are general descriptions. Some Deacons have binders and much more detailed outlines of
their areas of ministry. Each Deacon should feel free to shape their area of ministry based on
their own experience, interests, and initiative.

There are two Deacons in each area of Ministry serving a term of at least two years. It is not
expected that they carry out all of the tasks in their area but instead recruit congregational
involvement for ad hoc projects. Deacons interact with paid staff including Office Manager,
Sunday Sexton, Music and non-paid Treasurer and Finance staff.

Areas not covered by Deacons but rather separate groups/committees: Christmas Fair, Yard Sale,
