They participated in a brief lesson where they put on their adult hats, looked at their monthly budget, and tried and figure out how the could make it all happen. They had to make some tough choices and couldn’t afford all the important stuff. In the end, they cut our food budget in half because we could lean on Bread of Life and the Servant heart food pantry for some of our food. Being able to cut their food budget gave them enough money to go to the doctor/dentist, buy some household toiletries and almost enough money for a phone. Holiday celebrations were on the bottom of the list. It was certainly a reminder how important our commitment is to Bread of Life is to their diners.
