
Would you like to volunteer to help recent immigrants?
ISA meets at 7:30 pm in our lounge on the first Tuesday of the month, and all are welcome to attend. This 2023-2024 year, we are working with a 51 year old woman from Haiti who we have sponsored, but has not arrived in the United States yet.
It takes a village to welcome and support people who have left their homeland behind and are trying to establish a new safe life in our local community. There are numerous big and small ways to help.
Maybe you could drive a client to a medical appointment or the grocery store, practice conversational English with them, share your computer skills, be a host family, or help with navigating the world of healthcare and schools. My personal volunteer experiences over more than ten years have been extremely rewarding.
