It’s no secret that we are living in challenging times. The world around us feels uncertain. Consequently, it can be easy to withdraw and to hold on tightly to what feels safe and certain.
But it’s in these very moments that the progressive ministry of First Congregational Church becomes most vital and our giving becomes most meaningful.
When the world feels fractured, the church reminds us that we belong to one another. When fear and anger seem to dominate our public life, the church offers compassion, courage, and hope. When many voices seek to divide, the church proclaims a gospel of radical love that transcends boundaries of race, gender, sexuality, class, and doctrine.
Giving to our church is not simply about meeting a budget. It’s about sustaining a sacred space where healing, justice, and spiritual renewal can flourish.
Your generosity keeps the lights on in our church building, but it also keeps the light of Christ shining in our community. It allows us to offer welcome to those who have felt unwelcome elsewhere, to serve our neighbors in need, and to raise our voices for peace and equity in a world longing for both.
In times of social chaos and political division, generosity is an act of resistance. It declares that fear will not have the final word, that hope is stronger than cynicism, and that love is still the most powerful force in the world.
So as we move through this Fall Stewardship Campaign together, I invite you not to give out of obligation, but out of faith in what God is doing here among us. Every gift, no matter the size, helps us embody the inclusive, justice-seeking love that our world so desperately needs.
Together, we are building a beautiful future for ourselves and for generations yet to come.
See you in church,
–Rev. Dominic
