This Sunday, June 8th, is shaping up to be a triple celebration that you don’t want to miss!
First, dig around in your closet or dresser and find something red to wear because it’s Pentecost Sunday! We’re celebrating the birthday of the church when the Holy Spirit blew onto the scene and gave the disciples a fiery pep talk that launched a movement that’s still going strong today. Think wind, flames, and people suddenly speaking every conceivable language. It’s a day to recapture the energy and joy of the Holy Spirit of God!
But that’s not all we’re celebrating! We’re also giving a big round of applause (and more than a few high-fives) to all of our amazing Sunday School children, youth, teachers, and volunteers who made this year one to remember. It’s Church School Sunday, and the children and youth will be leading the worship service! From glitter glue to deep theological thoughts (and everything in between), they’ve brought life, laughter, and learning to our church week after week. It’s our chance to learn what they’ve been up to and thank them for the ways that they help us all grow in faith together.
And to top it off? Well, what’s better than our Annual Spring Cookout?! That’s right—right after worship, we’re firing up that grill for a feast of burgers, hot dogs, and all the fixings. This is a rain or shine event with not only great food but also plenty of chances to connect with your church family.
So wear your Pentecost red, bring your appetite, and come ready to celebrate faith, fun, and the fabulous people who make our community what it is!
See you in church,
–Rev. Dominic
