You’ve probably noticed that we have drawn to a close our 175th anniversary recognitions. It was a wonderful year of reminiscing and using our heritage to plan for the future.
One aspect of our 175th celebrations was a call, at this time last year, for everyone to contribute $175 to the church above their regular pledge. Many of you did so and it made a tremendous difference to the financial health of FCC.
As part of this year’s Stewardship Campaign, I’d like to ask you to make that special donation a permanent part of your pledge. If everyone folded that “one-time” amount into their regular giving, it would go a long way to keeping our church budget in the black; ready to meet the challenges of these tumultuous times.
Let’s face it, all of us need First Congregational Church. We need it as a light-filled place that brings people together, strengthens our faith, provides avenues for positive change, and is a counterbalance to tension, despair, and fear.
We will be concluding our Fall Stewardship Campaign on Sunday, November 27th. Between now and then, please prayerfully consider increasing your pledge to invest in the next 175 years of ministry at FCC!
See you in church,
–Rev. Dominic
